Landslide Hazard Assessment in a Monoclinal Setting (Central Italy): Numerical vs. Geomorphological Approach

چکیده
A correct landslide hazard assessment (LHA) is fundamental for any purpose of territorial planning. In Italy, the methods currently in use to achieve this objective alternate between those based on mainly qualitative (geomorphological) and quantitative (statistical–numerical) approaches. The present study contributes evaluation best procedure be implemented LHA, comparing results obtained using two different approaches (geomorphological numerical) a context characterized by conditioning triggering factors, favorable instability slopes. obtained, although preliminary, evidence respective limitations demonstrate how combined approach can certainly provide mutual advantages, addressing choice numerical model through direct observations surveys.

Landslide hazard assessment in the Collazzone area, Umbria, Central Italy
We present the results of the application of a recently proposed model to determine landslide hazard. The model predicts where landslides will occur, how frequently they will occur, and how large they will be in a given area. For the Collazzone area, in the central Italian Apennines, we prepared a multi-temporal inventory map through the interpretation of multiple sets of aerial photographs tak...
متن کاملAssessment of landslide hazard models in Chamsangar basin
Landslide mapping is one of the approaches (which can be) used to define the slope stable critical areas and the maps prepared based on this demarcating are used in desining sustainable development. The purpose of this study is to compare the landslide susceptibility mapping models based on Fuzzy logic, Information value and area Density applied in the Chamsangar watershed. According to the tec...
متن کاملLandslide hazard assessment: recent trends and techniques
Landslide hazard assessment is an important step towards landslide hazard and risk management. There are several methods of Landslide Hazard Zonation (LHZ) viz. heuristic, semi quantitative, quantitative, probabilistic and multi-criteria decision making process. However, no one method is accepted universally for effective assessment of landslide hazards. In recent years, several attempts have b...
متن کاملGeomorphological features and monitoring of a large and complex landslide near Avigliano urban area (South Italy)
This paper reports the results of geological and geomorphological surveys and the first results of a still in progress GPS monitoring campaign1, taken on a large and ancient landslide located near Avigliano town (Basilicata region, South Italy). The landslide occurs on structurally complex clayey-marly terrains and it is classifiable as a multiple and complex roto-translational-earthflow landsl...
متن کاملA Rational Probabilistic Method for Spatially Distributed Landslide Hazard Assessment
First-order, second-moment (FOSM) approximations of limit equilibrium slope stability equations can be combined with digital elevation models to perform spatially distributed probabilistic landslide hazard analyses. This is most easily accomplished using the infinite slope idealization, which is the basis of many published reconnaissance-level slope stability assessments. Comparisons of FOSM an...
